When the final buzzer sounded after 60 minutes of basketball, everyone was almost too exhausted to celebrate. But USC found a way to muster the energy to bask in the glory of its 103-101 victory over No. 7-ranked Arizona before 6,854 at the Galen Center on Saturday night.
The Trojans have defeated Arizona before at the Galen Center and experienced other big victories at home, but this was an emotionally draining experience for players and fans.
“We just kept fighting,” USC guard Jordan McLaughlin said. “We didn’t know which overtime we would win it in.”
Sophomore guard Elijah Stewart, who scored a game-high 30 points, made two free throws with 22.
