USC must learn from Stanford's mistakes (no fumbles), tailback Justin Davis says

USC is preparing for Oregon by learning from Stanford’s mistakes.

The Ducks recovered a fumble in the fourth quarter and converted it into a field goal that became the difference in a 38-36 victory over the Cardinal last week.

USC interim Coach Clay Helton said Wednesday that ball security has been emphasized during practice.

“You cannot give an extra possession to a dangerous Oregon offense,” Helton said. The Ducks have the top-rated scoring offense in the Pac-12 Conference and are averaging more than 48 points per game.

Tailback Justin Davis, who fumbled against Colorado, said that holding onto the ball was his top priority in the game plan.
