Senior linebacker Scott Felix’s USC career ended Friday when the NCAA denied his appeal for taking a banned substance.
Felix was suspended after failing an NCAA drug test at Holiday Bowl but his status was in doubt until the NCAA made its final ruling.
“In life, people make mistakes and I am no different,” Felix said in a statement. “I’m disappointed to say that I have lost my final year of eligibility in 2016. I took an over-the-counter supplement from a local nutrition store without consulting our medical staff, believing that there were no red flags in the supplement.
