USC linebacker Cameron Smith has instincts to make tackle

LOS ANGELES >> Dallas Sartz heeded the advice from Rocky Seto.

It proved simple enough when he became a two-time captain at USC in the mid-2000s while Seto was his linebackers coach.

“Believe in what you see,” Seto peppered.

The saying stressed decisiveness. Seto urged his linebackers not to hesitate when a play unfolded. After all, if they did, they might be out of it.

So a decade later, after Sartz had graduated from USC and spent three seasons in the NFL, he returned to his hometown in northern California. Eventually, he started working in commercial real estate with his father, Jeff,, but also joined the coaching staff for the football team at his high school alma mater in Granite Bay.
