USC sophomore linebacker Osa Masina has been charged with one count of first-degree rape and two counts of forcible sodomy, according to a police spokesman.
Cottonwood Heights Police Department Sgt. Dan Bartlett said a warrant had been issued for Masina’s arrest.
The felony charges were filed in 3rd District court in Salt Lake City on Thursday morning following a monthlong sexual assault investigation.
Masina, along with USC linebacker Don Hill, is also under investigation for sexual assault by the Los Angeles Police Department, according to search warrant obtained by the Southern California News Group.
Greg Skordas, a Salt Lake City-based defense attorney for Masina, said Masina was placed on interim suspension by the university Friday.
