USC knuckles down to take its revenge against Washington

LOS ANGELES – Earlier this month, when USC’s resurgence was still very much in question, the Trojans led Washington by 22 points in Seattle, with only 13 minutes remaining. A smooth road win seemed inevitable. A crucial, early Pac-12 matchup was in their hands.

And then it slipped away.

It was the season’s most regrettable defeat, the kind of last-second loss that sticks with you. In practice this week, leading up to the two teams’ Saturday rematch, players rehashed the heartbreak. They spoke of redemption.

“We’ve got a chance to get them back,” guard Katin Reinhardt said.
