USC grad assistant Austin Clark hired as Illinois defensive line coach

USC Football has already lost a couple of assistants this offseason, seeing quarterbacks coach Tyson Helton move on to become the offensive coordinator at Tennessee and running backs coach Deland McCullough join the Kansas City Chiefs.

Now the Trojans are set to lose a graduate assistant, and it might have a bigger impact than it seems on first glance.

Graduate assistant Austin Clark is set to become the defensive line coach at Illinois, according to Football Scoop and the Illini Inquirer, replacing new Indianapolis Colts defensive line coach Mike Phair.

Clark finished his second season at USC in 2017, working alongside Kenechi Udeze with the Trojan defensive line.
