USC fumbles away promise of being more than .500 team

LOS ANGELES >> USC flattered to deceive its limited audience Saturday afternoon at the Coliseum, when a possible blowout turned into a 21-17 nail-biter over Colorado. A result that once again raised more questions.

The Trojans easily could have won by four touchdowns if they did not become Turnover U. with three fumbles and an interception. If you want to know why USC let Colorado hang around and almost win the game, it’s because the Trojans (3-3, 2-2) perfectly mirrored their .500 record.

“It’s kind of been that story the whole year,” USC tailback Justin Davis said.
