With the end of fall camp and beginning of game preparation for USC Football’s season opener against Western Michigan on September 2, comes the official election of the Trojan team captains for 2017.
Quarterback Sam Darnold, safety Chris Hawkins, outside linebacker Uchenna Nwosu and inside linebacker Cameron Smith will serve as captains, representing the Trojans as leaders this season.
Darnold’s election is a no-brainer considering the redshirt sophomore’s exceptional play in 2016 and his command of the spotlight this offseason.
