USC football stifles Oregon offense

LOS ANGELES >> In its first eight games this season, Oregon looked prolific on offense.

The Ducks averaged 41 points per game, and even as they lost five consecutive games until a win over Arizona State last week, they showed enough prowess moving the ball.

But USC’s defense had the edge early Saturday night at the Coliseum.

The Trojans forced them to go three-and-out on their first three drives to start the game.

Oregon finished with six points in the first half. It marked only the third time since 2010 that the Ducks had scored less than seven points in a half during a Pac-12 game, according to ESPN Stats & Info.
