USC football’s perfectly clean record against Utah at the Coliseum remains intact.
That’s not to say the Trojans played a perfectly clean game on Friday night to best the No. 10 Utes 30-23.
It wasn’t always pretty, but it was effective. So how did each unit grade out?
USC’s defensive line isn’t a consistent unit yet. They struggle to hold the edge. They struggle to wrap up the quarterback. They struggle with discipline.
But they’re also USC’s best defensive unit and when they take over a game, they really take it over.
That’s what happened for the Trojans against Utah, with Drake Jackson, Jay Tufele, Marlon Tuipulotu and Christian Rector setting the tone for the defense with huge impact plays.
