USC Football Report Card: Grading the Trojans vs. UNLV

It wasn’t the cleanest start for USC football as the Trojans had to overcome a slow start to best the UNLV Rebels 43-21 in the season opener.

From freshmen debuts and veteran returns to big plays going both ways, there was a lot to try to process from the Coliseum on Saturday.

So without further ado, here’s the unit-by-unit report card for USC football’s Week 1 win:

On a day when USC’s defense gave up 308 rushing yards at a 7.2 yard per carry clip, you’d think the defensive line was at fault. As it was, 107 of those yards came on two plays, one a fake reverse to the outside which bypassed the defensive line and the other a fake punt which didn’t involve the defensive line at all.
