PALO ALTO >> USC has expressed interest in playing a football game in China, Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott said Saturday.
Officials recently met with Scott to discuss the idea, though there are no immediate plans to hold a game there.
“I still think it’s a few years off,” Scott said, addressing reporters at halftime of the Trojans’ Pac-12 opener at Stanford.
Cal opened this season across the Pacific Ocean against Hawaii in Sydney, Australia.
Last year, the conference also helped stage the first regular-season men’s college basketball game in China between Washington and Texas. This November, Stanford and Harvard will also tip off in Shanghai.
