USC football was already down to just two healthy scholarship safeties. Now, they are down to one.
During Saturday’s loss to ASU at the Coliseum, freshman safety Talanoa Hufanga broke his collarbone, head coach Clay Helton said.
Hufanga led USC with 11 tackles against ASU, but now it is unlikely he will see any more time on the field this season. Helton should give more details about his status during his Sunday conference call.
The injury could hardly come at a worse time for a more injury-hit unit. The Trojans were without senior captain Marvell Tell against the Sun Devils.
