USC football’s first official season-ending injury of 2018 has arrived.
The Trojans will lose the services of starting kicker Chase McGrath after the sophomore tore his ACL against Texas on Saturday night, head coach Clay Helton confirmed during his Sunday conference call.
McGrath injured his knee during the play when Texas blocked a long field goal attempt and returned it for a touchdown in the third quarter.
Coincidentally, the Trojans will now turn to backup kicker Michael Brown, who was lost for all of last season with an ACL tear in the second game of the campaign.
