USC football: Clay Helton takes over playcalling, fires Neil Callaway

After falling to 4-4 and facing serious questions in their Pac-12 title defense, the USC football program announced major changes on Monday.

The Trojans revealed via Twitter that head coach Clay Helton has decided to take over playcalling duties from offensive coordinator Tee Martin. He also parted ways with offensive line coach Neil Callaway, who was “relieved of his duties.”

Running backs coach Tim Drevno, a longtime offensive line coach, will take over for Callaway in the trenches with graduate assistants assisting him in his duties as running backs coach.

USC head coach Clay Helton announced that he will take over play calling duties for the rest of the season and OL coach Neil Callaway has been relieved of his duties.
