Clay Helton’s first recruiting class features a pair of five-star recruits, 12 four-star players and six three-star prospects.
Here’s a run down of superlatives for the 2016 class:
Biggest Surprise – Vavae Malepeai
The four-star running back had been an Oregon commit since last summer and he had every reason to be. The Ducks Hawaiian recruiting roots have been well-established and it was a family affair for Vavae Malepeai with three uncles who played for Oregon in the 1990s.
So it was a surprise when those ties were not enough to keep Malepeai bound to the Ducks.
