LOS ANGELES – Michael Hutchings stood on the sideline at the Coliseum three years ago, watching Chuckie Keeton march Utah State’s offense toward midfield in the afternoon sunshine.
USC was clinging to a three-point lead. The Aggies started their final drive at their 15-yard line. Keeton, though, connected on a couple passes. The dynamic quarterback zipped one for 13 yards and saw another go for 6 yards.
“They run their offense to a T,” Hutchings said.
On a fourth down, Keeton scrambled to pick up the first down, but fell short by 3 yards, brought down by defensive lineman George Uko.
