When USC was selected for the NCAA Tournament on Sunday, it was somewhat anti-climatic because like many teams, the Trojans were aware of a leaked bracket via twitter.
But the Trojans were still a little surprised by their draw. USC (21-12) faces Providence (23-10) on Thursday night in Raleigh, N.C. If the Trojans get past the Friars, they would likely play No. 1-seeded North Carolina in the Tar Heel State.
“We didn’t necessarily think we’d have an easier (opponent) but we definitely didn’t think we’d have matchups with Providence and North Carolina,” USC point guard Julian Jacobs said.
