USC coach Clay Helton filled two spots on his coaching staff Monday when he hired his brother, Tyson, to coach the running backs and Neil Callaway to coach the offensive line.
Tyson Helton and Callaway were both at Western Kentucky. Helton was offensive coordinator while Callaway, the former head coach at Alabama-Birmingham, coached the offensive line. Helton will also have the title of “pass game coordinator” at USC.
“Both have been highly successful coordinators and we look forward to the fresh energy and ideas they will bring,” Clay Helton said in a statement. “I have watched them produce a pair of Top 10 offenses that averaged more than 44 points a game each of the past two years.
