USC basketball made an improbable comeback to advance from the First Four play-in game as the No. 11 seed in the East and they’ll have to beat the odds again on Friday against SMU.
The Mustangs, who stand as the No. 6 seed, opened as a 6.5-point favorite over the Trojans on Thursday, per the VegasInsider.com consensus line.
USC was the favorite by 3.5 points over the Mustangs back in November, when they met at the Galen Center.
Bennie Boatwright took center stage in that game, scoring 17 points, while freshman Jonah Mathews made an early impression with 14 points.
