USC Basketball: Derryck Thornton sidelined with shoulder injury

In the midst of a two-game slide, USC Basketball’s troubles have only grown with the news that Derryck Thornton will miss three to four weeks of action due to a dislocated shoulder suffered during practice.

Head coach Andy Enfield announced the prognosis on Wednesday, via Joey Kaufman of the OC Register.

Thornton did not play during the Trojans 72-55 loss to SMU. In six games with USC in 2017, he has averaged 3.6 points per game in 15.4 minutes on the floor, adding an average of two rebounds and 1.4 assists.

The former five-star Duke transfer who sat out last year hasn’t taken on a starring role for the Trojans, but he does figure to be a key loss for the time being.
