There may be no NCAA Tournament bid for USC Basketball but there could be some March Madness on the cards.
As a consolation for missing out on the tournament, the Trojans accepted a No. 1 seed in the 2018 National Invitation Tournament with a first round matchup against UNC Asheville, which will be hosted at the Galen Center.
UNC Asheville went 21-12, winning the Big South Conference regular season title. However, they were upset by Liberty in the semifinals of the conference tournament and missed out on pursuing an automatic bid to March Madness.
The Bulldogs have reason to be disappointed, but that pales in comparison to USC’s disappointment despite the high seeding in the NIT.
