LOS ANGELES – USC couldn’t defend its home court and, more specifically, the real estate directly in front of the net, so the Trojans lost at Galen Center on Sunday for the first time in almost 12 months.
USC’s bid to finish atop the Pac-12 Conference basketball standings took a big hit, as one of the teams the Trojans are chasing, Utah, completed the Southern California sweep with a 80-69 victory over USC.
The Trojans (19-8, 8-6) suffered their third loss in their past four games and their first loss in 16 home games this season. The defeat came, rather simply, with surprisingly bland offense and poor interior play.
