Taylor Mays is the newest member of the Detroit Lions, according to Lions' reporter Tim Twentyman.
Mays, who was cut by the Minnesota Vikings last week after signing with the team in March, could see playing time in 2015 as a backup safety or special teams contributor.
Taken with the 49th pick in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft, Mays has 98 career tackles, one tackle for a loss, a forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries.
