LOS ANGELES – Nothing Su’a Cravens did or didn’t do at USC’s Pro Day guaranteed him a first-round spot in the upcoming NFL draft. But his performance Wednesday allowed the 30-40 scouts on hand another chance to decide at which position he might best exceed.
Considered a “hybrid linebacker,” Cravens appeared to excel in the linebacker drills, giving the scouts a glimpse of his fluidity on the field. A projected early second-round pick, Cravens believes his agility as a safety garnered more attention.
“They just wanted to see me at DB,” Cravens said. “They wanted to see if I can open up my hips, if I can break on the ball, if I can catch the ball, if I can cover the deep half, the deep third.
