USC’s run defense last season ranked 66th overall in the nation and the one strength on offense that UNLV has to offer is rushing the ball.
With senior running back Lexington Thomas coming off a career-high year in yards and touchdowns, there is no question that the Running Rebels will look to give their workhorse an ample amount of carries early in the first half to create some momentum. In order for UNLV to keep this contest competitive, it’s going to look to get some points on the board on the team’s first drive. Thomas will play an integral role in helping the Rebels get off to the positive start and with the Trojans still dealing with some minor injuries that took place over Fall Camp, there’s a solid chance that UNLV will keep the game close in the first two quarters.
