Ronald Jones passes O.J. Simpson on USC’s all-time rushing list

After best three USC legends in a November win over Colorado —Reggie Bush, LenDale White and Mike Garrett— junior running back Ronald Jones needed just eight yards in Friday night’s Pac-12 Championship Game to chase down O.J. Simpson, and nine to run past him. He did it on his first carry, gaining 11 yards on the game’s opening play.

Jones has had a stellar final third of the 2017 season, with a whopping 420 combined yards against Arizona State and Arizona, and a career-high 1,346 yards in 11 regular season games going into the rematch with Stanford.

The Texas native has joined LenDale White as only the second Trojan rusher since Marcus Allen to rush for at least 1,000 yards in consecutive seasons.
