As if Ronald Jones wasn’t already among the greatest running backs to ever play at USC, he put himself forever in Trojan lore Saturday at Colorado by surpassing Heisman Trophy winners Mike Garrett and Reggie Bush, along with the iconic LenDale White, on the school’s career rushing list.
Following a two-game stretch in which he ran for 410 yards against Arizona State and Arizona, Jones needed only 19 yards to surpass Bush and White’s 3,169 and 3,159-yard careers, and 71 yards to edge out Garrett’s 3,221.
The Texas native eclipsed all three on just 17 carries and now ranks sixth all-time with 3242 yards and counting.
