Ronald Jones II heard his name called in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft on Friday evening, landing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Tampa Bay picked him with the No. 38 selection overall, making him the second Trojan off the board on draft weekend. Sam Darnold was drafted No. 3 overall by the New York Jets on Thursday night.
Jones II earned that second round status on the back of a stellar Trojan career. In three years at USC he rose up the university’s illustrious rushing charts, finishing fifth all-time with 3,619 yards. The only backs ahead of him on USC’s career list include two Heisman Trophy winners in Charles White and Marcus Allen and two Heisman Trophy runners up in Anthony Davis and Ricky Bell.
