Another familiar face returned to USC on Tuesday when Tommie Robinson agreed to return as Coach Clay Helton's running backs coach and run-game coordinator.
Robinson coached USC's running backs in 2013 under then-Coach Lane Kiffin, when Helton worked as offensive coordinator. Robinson was not retained when Kiffin's replacement Steve Sarkisian, took over in Jan. 2014.
Robinson, 52, spent the last two seasons as Texas' running backs coach.
In a statement, Helton said, "I have had the good fortune to work with Tommie on two different occasions, at USC and at Memphis, and have seen firsthand how he develops young men both on and off the field.
