QB Max Browne transferring from USC to Pittsburgh

Former USC quarterback Max Browne announced Thursday he is transferring to Pittsburgh.

Browne, who was a redshirt junior this fall, has one season of eligibility remaining. He can play for the Panthers in 2017 under NCAA rules that allow transfers who have earned their undergraduate degrees to avoid sitting out a season. Browne had already been enrolled in USC MBA’s program.

Last weekend, Browne took an official visit to Pittsburgh.

“Great team, school and city!” he wrote on Twitter afterward, thanking Coach Pat Narduzzi.

The one-time five-star prospect from Sammamish, Wash., began this season as the Trojans’ starter after waiting behind Cody Kessler for three years.
