USC Football’s 2018 defense got a major boost on Friday as news broke that outside linebacker Porter Gustin plans to return for his senior season.
Joey Kaufman of the OC Register reported Gustin’s return, per a source.
Gustin, who was USC’s second-leading tackler in 2016, had 16 tackles and three sacks in four games of action in 2017.
His shortened campaign was the result of a broken toe suffered during USC’s Week 2 win over Stanford. Returning to the field just days after surgery, Gustin played a half against Texas, but aggravated his foot injury and tore his bicep.
