Seahawks Coach Pete Carroll isn’t surprised that blind long snapper Jake Olson has joined the USC football team.
“There’s nothing he can’t do,” Carroll told reporters Wednesday.
Olson was born with retinoblastoma, a rare cancer of the retina. He lost his left eye at 10 months and his right eye when he was 12.
Before Olson went blind, he made a request to watch a final USC football practice. Carroll was the Trojans’ coach.
“He just wanted to be around the Trojans so that he could have the visual for the rest of his life, and if you can imagine that, he had that kind of foresight way back when he was a little kid,” Carroll said.
