LOS ANGELES – After USC played a rare Friday night game, Clay Helton got to do something Saturday that he enjoys almost as much as coaching: watch college football with his 12-year-old son, Turner.
“I don’t know who was the 12-year-old,” Helton said Tuesday.
The Heltons’ programming lineup included Oregon’s 38-36 victory over Stanford. The Trojans face the Ducks this Saturday. Asked what stood out most about them, USC’s interim coach pinpointed one player: quarterback Vernon Adams Jr.
Oregon’s four-game winning streak has coincided with Adams’ return to health. The senior transfer from Eastern Washington has thrown 12 touchdown passes over that span.
