USC’s offense had been backed up during an 11-on-11 period at spring practice after the defense proved disruptive in the backfield.
“You try not to pull your hair out,” Coach Clay Helton said of the series.
Helton sought to keep it in stride.
It was a spotlight on an offensive line that has looked particularly young during spring workouts. Last season, it emerged as one of the Trojans’ strengths. In 13 games, USC allowed just 12 sacks, the fewest in the Pac-12.
