USC forward Chimezie Metu was named the Pac-12’s Most Improved Player, All-Pac-12 Second Team and All-Academic honorable mention, guard Jordan McLaughlin was named All-Pac-12 honorable mention and guard De’Anthony Melton was named All-Defensive Team honorable mention, announced conference commissioner Larry Scott today (March 6).
Metu is averaging 14.4 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game for the Trojans while starting all 31 games. He more than doubled his freshman scoring and rebounding averages this season ( 6.4 ppg and 3.6 rpg in 2015-16). The sophomore forward has been a consistent force for the Trojans with double-figures in points and at least six rebounds in 24 of 31 games played.
