LOS ANGELES >> Red swelled underneath his eyes. He rubbed his graying sandy hair.
Colorado coach Mike MacIntyre sighed once more before he pawed away lasting tears.
“Wow,” he said.
Moments after Colorado upset Oregon 41-38 at Autzen Stadium in late September, its first win there since 1967, MacIntyre lingered on the field for a postgame TV interview and recounted his team’s long climb out of the Pac-12 Conference cellar.
He shook his left arm. He celebrated his players.
“Everyone was ecstatic,” senior quarterback Sefo Liufau said.
“It was pretty emotional,” junior receiver Shay Fields said.
