LOS ANGELES – As light slowly filled the Galen Center, shortly after a power surge left USC’s final home game blanketed in darkness, Bruce Springsteen’s voice rang from the loudspeakers, singing a timeless – and timely – classic, “Dancing in the Dark.”
It was an apt choice from the in-house DJ, considering the reality USC faces after a 76-66 loss to No. 9 Oregon on Saturday.
The Trojans (20-11, 9-9) have no clue if they’ll be dancing next Sunday when NCAA Tournament bids are handed out, after a once-bright season dulled with six losses in their past eight games.
