A deal currently being mulled by the International Olympic Committee could give Paris the Olympics in 2024, while leaving the 2028 games to Los Angeles, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The IOC was expected to make their decision between Paris and Los Angeles for 2024 later this summer, but the deal offers a compromise with both cities emerging with a prize.
As far as USC is concerned, preparing for the 2028 games instead of 2024 would allow for some breathing room as renovations are completed at the Coliseum.
The $270 million renovation beginning this year is expected to be completed ahead of the 2019 season, with the addition of the Scholarship Club Tower and many other improvements.
