In case USC fans needed to be reminded of the impact of Julian Jacobs, Thursday’s game served as a good showcase.
After missing Sunday’s game with tendinitis in his left Achilles, Jacobs returned against Cal Poly and had the Trojans’ offense resembling the high-flying show head coach Andy Enfield had at Florida Gulf Coast.
Jacobs finished with 10 points and a career-high 13 assists as USC went wire-to-wire for a 101-82 win to remain unbeaten this season and win its 100th career game at the Galen Center.
“This is the first time we’ve embodied ‘Dunk City’ from start to finish,” said Jacobs, referring to the nickname given Enfield’s 2012-13 Florida Gulf Coast team that reached the Sweet Sixteen.
