USC football’s secondary is well represented on this year’s Jim Thorpe Award Watch List, with cornerback Iman Marshall and safety Marvell Tell III each making an appearance.
The Thorpe Watch List is limited to just 35 players who standout as candidates to be named the nation’s top defensive back in 2018.
Marshall was USC’s top cornerback in 2017, posting 51 tackles and 10 pass breakups as a junior. Surprisingly, he didn’t nab an interception after two straight seasons with three takeaways to his name. His senior season should provide ample opportunity to return to form in that regard while also building on two consecutive All-Pac-12 honorable mentions.
