LOS ANGELES – There were the usual number of parents, recruits and media members watching USC practice Saturday as the Trojans went through football drills and end-game situations.
Also on the sideline was a group of special visitors, familiar faces who knew their way around Howard Jones Field.
Those faces belonged to former Trojans players, including Marcus Allen, Anthony Davis, Sam Cunningham, Matt Barkley and Matt Leinart, who attended the two-hour rainy practice and then mingled with the players. Allen, the 1981 Heisman Trophy winner, addressed the team afterward.
“I don’t get star-struck very often when it comes to Hollywood stars, but when it comes to USC football stars, I get goose bumps in a hurry,” Coach Clay Helton said.
