LOS ANGELES – Former USC athletic director Pat Haden was hospitalized Tuesday after experiencing light-headedness, a school spokesman confirmed.
Haden was said to be alert and talking.
USC Annenberg Media, a student-run online publication, first reported Haden was transported from campus in an ambulance, citing an eyewitness account. He was sitting upright on a stretcher before he was taken in.
Haden, who had worked as the school’s athletic director since 2010, stepped down earlier this year and was replaced in July by Lynn Swann.
He has remained at USC on a one-year term to guide the $270 million renovation of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
