While there were a multitude of excuses for why USC performed inadequately—the short week, injuries on both sides of the ball, the elevation and a freshman quarterback—there was no reason for Colorado to be competitive with USC based on their performances over the last few weeks.
The unfortunate truth about the Trojans under Clay Helton is that the team (and Helton) will celebrate and be satisfied with the way they played because they won.
And that is why they are and will continue to be mediocre.
