BERKELEY – Takeaways are fueling USC’s goal of taking the Pac-12 South.
For the second week in a row, the Trojans used turnovers to turn a game in their favor. USC took the ball away from Cal three times, fueling a 27-21 victory in front of 52,060 fans on Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium in Berkeley.
The biggest of the three was cornerback Adoree’ Jackson’s pick-six early in the second half. After USC had taken a 17-7 lead, Jackson intercepted Jared Goff and returned the ball 46 yards for a touchdown. It was the first interception of Jackson’s career and the second returned by the USC defense for a touchdown in as many weeks.
