Former USC linebacker Lamar Dawson has filed a class-action lawsuit against the NCAA and the Pac-12 Conference, alleging the organizations violated the Fair Labor Standards Act and additional California labor laws.
The suit, filed Monday in U.S. District Court in San Francisco, seeks damages such as minimum wage, overtime payments and other compensation, including interest.
The 45-page complaint read that Dawson, “was repeatedly paid a substandard wage insofar as he was denied full pay for all hours worked.”
College players, the suit alleges, worked more than 40 hours in a week.
Dawson played for the Trojans from 2011 to 2015 and started 20 games in his first three seasons before he was limited by a variety of injuries.
