The Dodgers will promote triple-A right-hander Nick Tepesch to start Friday against the Pirates, the team announced Thursday.
Tepesch, the 27-year-old who has made 39 big-league starts, joined the Dodgers in June, after he exercised an opt-out clause with the Texas Rangers.
With triple-A Oklahoma City, he has gone 3-0 with a 2.00 earned-run average. His most recent start, last Friday, was his best all season: eight innings, three hits, one run and eight strikeouts.
The move was first reported by Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal.
