DeRozan's USA And Lewis' Venezuela Teams Earn Olympic Victories Today

USA improved to 3-0 and Venezuela to 1-2 after their Group A victories at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil today (Aug. 10). USA defeated Australia 98-88 and Venezuela held off China 72-68 to close out third-round action.

DeMar DeRozan (USC 2009) had a steal and did not attempt a shot in limited action during Team USA’s first close game of the competition. USA trailed 54-49 at halftime which was its first deficit at the break in Olympic competition since 2004 vs. Argentina. Carmelo Anthony scored 31 points and Kyrie Irving had 19 points led Team USA’s comeback.
