College basketball: Minnesota upends No. 15 Purdue; No. 18 Arizona routs Stanford

Nate Mason scored 31 points and Eric Curry scored seven of his 10 in overtime as visiting Minnesota upset No. 15 Purdue, 91-82, on Sunday.

The Big 10 teams traded baskets to begin the extra period before a Curry basket began an 11-0 run that helped snap the Boilermakers' seven-game winning streak.

Purdue’s P.J. Thompson, who spent most the game trying to guard Mason, praised Minnesota’s leading scorer, who came in averaging 13.5 points.

“He's a good player,” Thompson said. “He came out ready to play and had his team ready to play.
